Is there Uber in Marrakech?

Uber is back in Marrakech after seven years away. Here is how it works today, where the other apps stand, and what to do when you land.

By the Medina Transfers team  ·  Updated 12 October 2026

Yes, Uber operates in Marrakech. The app relaunched in Marrakech and Casablanca on 27 November 2025, seven years after leaving Morocco. It works only with licensed transport vehicles and offers two categories, UberX and UberXL.

What changed in November 2025

Uber suspended its service in Morocco in 2018. Its return is built on a different model: the app connects riders with vehicles that already hold a transport licence. Uber announced scheduled rides, trips with several stops and cashless payment in the app.

Uber at Marrakech airport

The launch announcement says nothing about airport pick-ups, and availability can change with the hour. Check the app after you land. If no ride is offered, the options in front of the terminal are the taxi rank and, in the daytime, the airport bus line 19.

inDrive, Careem and other apps

Other ride apps are used in Marrakech, inDrive in particular. Travel sources that follow the subject report that inDrive is not legal under current Moroccan transport law, although the company is registered in the country. In practice, drivers may ask to meet you away from taxi ranks and tourist sites. That is worth knowing before you count on it with luggage.
