Luggage storage in Marrakech: where to leave your bags

A late flight, an early check-out, a riad whose room is not ready: here is where your suitcase can wait in Marrakech, and what it costs.

By the Medina Transfers team  ·  Updated 12 October 2026

In Marrakech, luggage storage is found in the city, not at the airport. Storage points in the Medina and in Gueliz keep a suitcase for about 60 to 90 dirhams a day at a local office, or from a few dollars a day through the international networks. Most riads also keep bags for a few hours if you ask.

At the airport

We found no official page describing a left-luggage office at Marrakech Menara Airport. A travel guide published on 30 September 2025 states that luggage storage is currently unavailable in the terminals. Other pages mention lockers or a counter, with prices that contradict each other and that we could not confirm. The safe plan is to treat the airport as having no storage.

One local company offers an alternative: it collects or delivers bags at the airport for 80 dirhams for the first bag and 20 dirhams for each additional one, on top of the storage price.

At the train station and coach stations

A storage network that updated its Marrakech page on 8 October 2026 writes that the city's main rail terminal has no storage. Older forum posts mention a left-luggage counter at the coach station next door, but they date from many years ago. If you arrive by train and want to walk around before your riad is ready, the storage points of Gueliz are the practical answer: the station is in the same district.

In the Medina and near Jemaa el-Fna

Storage here works through networks. A shop, a hostel or a hotel reception keeps your bag, and you book and pay online.

ServicePrice shownGood to know
BounceFrom 2.25 euros per bag per day22 points listed in the city, flat rate for 24 hours, free cancellation, hours vary by point
StasherFrom 1.49 US dollars per bag per dayHotel and hostel receptions, one near Jemaa el-Fna open 24 hours
Radical Storage50 dirhams per bag per dayTwo points, near the Ben Youssef Madrasa and in the Kasbah, 7.30am to 10pm
LuggageHeroFrom 1.49 US dollars per hour, 4.90 per day from the second dayA one-off fee of 1.60 dollars per bag, paid by card at pick-up, no cash

Prices are those shown by each service in October 2026. Opening hours depend on the shop: check them before you book, especially for an evening pick-up.

In Gueliz

MC Consigne, a local storage office, has two addresses: 223 Avenue Mohammed V in Gueliz, and the Medina Mall on Avenue Houmman El Fetouaki. Its published prices are in dirhams:

DurationPrice per bag
One hour10 to 25 dirhams, depending on the size of the bag
One day60 to 90 dirhams
One week300 to 450 dirhams

The office is open every day from 9am to 9.30pm. You reserve online and pay in cash when you drop the bag. Insurance is optional, at 10 dirhams per bag.

What riads and hotels do

Many riads have a luggage room and keep bags free of charge before check-in and after check-out. It is a courtesy, not an obligation, and a small riad may have little space. Write to yours before you travel, and ask until what time someone is there to hand the bags back.

Is it safe?

  • Bounce states a protection of up to 10,000 euros per booking.
  • Stasher states a guarantee of up to 13,000 US dollars.
  • LuggageHero includes a guarantee of 500 US dollars, valid when you pay through the platform.
  • MC Consigne keeps bags in a closed room and sells its insurance separately.

These are the terms each service publishes. Keep passports, money and electronics with you whatever the guarantee.

Carrying bags inside the Medina

Cars stop at the gates of the old city. From there, porters with hand carts carry luggage through the lanes to the riads. A travel guide updated in July 2025 gives 20 to 30 dirhams, depending on the distance and the load. Agree the price before the cart moves, and pay in cash: the tipping guide gives the usual amounts.

A late flight after check-out

This is the most common case. Three steps keep the day simple:

  1. Leave the bags at your riad if it agrees, or at a storage point close to where you will spend the afternoon.
  2. Check the closing time of the storage point against your flight.
  3. Book the transfer to the airport from the address where the bags are. Allow 15 to 20 minutes from the Medina or Gueliz, and see how early to arrive at the airport.

A private transfer from the Medina, Gueliz or Hivernage to the airport costs €20 per vehicle for 1 to 7 passengers. Prices for the other areas are on the price page.

Practical cases

You arrive by train at noon and your riad opens at 3pm

The station has no storage, so the bags go with you or to a point in Gueliz. Two choices: take a taxi straight to the riad and ask to leave the suitcases in its luggage room, which most riads accept, or drop them at a storage point on Avenue Mohammed V and have lunch in Gueliz. The second choice saves a return trip only if you planned to stay in the new town anyway.

You check out at 11am and fly at 9pm

Ask the riad first: it is free and the bags are already there. Check until what time someone is at reception. If the riad cannot keep them, choose a storage point whose closing time is at least two hours after the time you plan to collect, so that a delay does not lock your suitcase in for the night. A local office open until 9.30pm is too tight for a 9pm flight; a hotel reception open 24 hours is not.

You have one day in Marrakech between two destinations

Travellers on a tour or between two flights often have six to eight hours and all their luggage. A storage point near the Koutoubia or Jemaa el-Fna puts you at walking distance of the souks, the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs. Book online before you arrive: the points are small shops and take a limited number of bags.

You are visiting the Jardin Majorelle with a suitcase

Large bags are not admitted, according to a storage network present in the area. The garden is north of Gueliz: leave the bags at a point in Gueliz first, then walk or take a short taxi ride.

You have a pushchair, a surfboard or a bicycle case

Ask before you book. One network states that it has no size limit, but each shop has its own space. The local office prices by volume, up to more than 75 litres. For anything larger than a suitcase, a message to the storage point avoids a refusal at the door.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Counting on the airport. No source confirms a left-luggage office there.
  • Arriving without cash. The local office and the porters are paid in dirhams.
  • Ignoring the closing time. Hours differ from one shop to the next, and some close in the early evening.
  • Leaving valuables in the bag. The guarantees have ceilings and conditions.
