Timetable: what to rely on
The bus runs from early morning until the evening. Published hours do not agree: some sources give a last departure at 9.30pm, others at 11.30pm. Treat line 19 as a daytime option and plan something else if you land late.
When the bus is the right choice, and when it is not
- Good choice: you travel alone or as a couple, with light luggage, in the daytime, and your hotel is near Jemaa el-Fna, in Gueliz or by the station.
- Poor choice for a riad: the bus leaves you on the edge of the Medina. You still have to find your riad on foot through lanes closed to cars. See how a transfer to a Medina riad handles that last stretch.
- Not an option for the Palmeraie: line 19 does not go there.
- Compare from three passengers: three bus tickets cost 90 dirhams. A private vehicle for 1 to 7 passengers costs €20 and goes to your door. The price guide sets the options side by side.
